The circumstances surrounding the arrest and subsequent repatriation of Ms. Shalimar Abbuisi, a Belgian national and spokesperson for The New Force, a recently established political group in Ghana, have been made clear by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).

As per the Immigration Act, 2000, Act 573, Section 20 (2)(a), the Comptroller-General’s revocation of Ms. Abbuisi’s residence permit served as the basis for the decision to repatriate her, according to the GIS.

Furthermore, according to the GIS, Ms. Abbuisi used deceptive means to obtain a student permit.

According to the law, Ms. Shalimar Abbiusi could not stay in Ghana, and the Comptroller-General ordered her removal from the nation. This was stated in the statement released by the GIS.

Accordingly, the GIS stated that she was returned home on December 19, 2023, via Air Brussels Flight No. SN 319.
