arrest

In relation to an attack on its personnel and the destruction of some properties in Kwahu Bepong in the Eastern Region, the Ghana Police Service has detained 25 people.

According to reports, the people vandalised local property and attacked police personnel.

After some neighbours chose to take matters into their own hands in order to deal with an alleged murder suspect, the police were called in to help restore order.

The residents threw stones at the police because they were upset over their interference, damaging their motorcycles in the process.

In a statement, the police stated that “things have been normalised while efforts are ongoing to get the other suspects arrested to face justice” and that “a reinforcement team working with the local Police has restored calm.”

The police promised to provide all incident details when they became available.
