Two players of debutants, Ampem Darkoa, who finished fourth in the recently concluded CAF Women’s Champions League, Cote d’Ivoire 2023  made the tournament’s Best XI.

This was announced by the CAF Technical Study Group, Wednesday.

Unsurprisingly, five Mamelodi Sundowns players—who played a key role in their team’s remarkable run to win their second CAF Women’s Champions League title—are among the eight participating clubs’ roster.

The bronze medallists AS Far, Ampem Darkoa, and runners-up SC Casablanca are also represented in the Best Xl.

Yeboah Comfort, a left back for Techiman-based Club, made the list thanks to his natural speed and skill, which allowed Ampem Darkoa to launch several attacks down the left in their thrilling debut.

Jennifer Owusuaa, the forward, was undoubtedly one of Ampem Darkoa’s brightest spots. Even though Owusuaa was participating in her first CAF Women’s Champions League, she displayed incredible bravery and tenacity by taking on defenders and displaying no signs of timidity.

She completed her brilliant performance by scoring a goal in the close semi-final loss to SC Casablanca, which was the cherry on top for the forward.
