Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

Players from Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have been challenged by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, to show that they are capable of improving the team’s dismal performance.

At a meeting earlier today, he made this statement to the team as Kotoko faces a difficult season in the

2023–2024 Ghana Premier League.

In the second half of the league season, the team has a draw and six losses in seven games, placing them 11th out of the 18 teams in the standings at the time of publication.

The Porcupine Warriors were second in the league standings at the end of the first round after four wins and a draw in December.

Nevertheless, Kotoko’s performance has taken a dire turn, forcing the Asantehene to step up and confront players.

He began, “I am expecting something better from you,” and then he quickly discussed Prosper Narteh Ogum, the head coach of Kotoko who is currently under fire.

“Prove to me that you are capable and if the coach is the problem, then I will take a decision on him. But for now, make sure you go and play and win.”

On Sunday, April 21, at 15:00 GMT, the Reds will take on league leaders FC Samartex at Kumasi’s Baba Yara Stadium.
