Ghana Premier League  side, Bibiani Gold Stars have formally announced the hiring of Stephen Frimpong Manso as head coach.

This comes after the team severed ties with former gaffer Michael Osei.

Following a draw with the nearby rival Nsoatreman Football Club, Frimpong Manso—who was previously in charge of Bofoakwa Tano, a team in the same league—was relieved of his duties.

A group of Bofoakwa supporters violently attacked Nsoatreman head coach Maxwell Konadu, which took center stage during the draw.

The veteran trainer, who was named Coach of the Month Award winner in September after two wins and a draw in three league games, has had a rapid turnaround in his career following his dismissal.

64-year-old Frimpong Manso had a stellar football playing career, most notably with Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club. Prior to accepting the head coaching position at Gold Stars, he had coached teams like Nkoranza Warriors and Eleven Wonders FC.
